Profitable freesia cultivation starts with breeding. Van den Bos Flowerbulbs creates new perspectives for growers worldwide through breeding. The breeding activities contribute to the continuous development of the selection, and this makes our varieties ever more compatible with the requirements of growers, traders and consumers.

We offer varieties that are the result of own breeding activities as well as the varieties from four reputable, external freesia breeders available: Freprom, Nico van Os and Nico van den Berg. Recently, Van den Bos Flowerbulbs took over the freesia activities of Van Zanten Plants, which had already sold all its sales rights to its freesia varieties to our company in 2010. Both the head office in The Netherlands and the nursery in New Zealand have optimum facilities for efficient propagation.

At Van den Bos, preparation is currently a process that is supported by the latest technology, but experience remains the most important factor. With more than 50 years of accumulated know-how growers have the assurance that the corms and cormlets are in the best hands, so they can have top quality start-up materials.
